Mounjaro is injected once a week, on the same day each week.
When you first start taking Mounjaro, the dose is increased every four weeks. The starting dose for Mounjaro® is 2.5mg, once a week, for four weeks. The dose will then be increased after every four weeks until you reach the recommended dose of 15mg a week. This helps to reduce the risk of side effects by allowing your body to become accustomed to the drug.
At Week 17, you will reach the full dose which you will continue for the rest of your treatment.
Depending on how well you tolerate side effects, we may need to adjust your schedule for doses, and it may not be appropriate to titrate to the highest dose. Our clinical team will work with you on this, and adjust the dose if needed. It is also essential that we continue to monitor that the medication is working and suitable for you. Again our clinical team will assist with this.
