Do I need a new consultation to switch from Mounjaro to Wegovy?

Yes, a new assessment form is required for every prescription medication ordered through our service. As Mounjaro and Wegovy are both different GLP-1s you will need to complete a new consultation form.

Please find the key information below before switching from Mounjaro to Wegovy:

• When moving from Mounjaro to Wegovy, you don’t always need to begin on the very lowest dose.
• Our clinical team has set out guidance on the safest equivalent doses to help you switch from Mounjaro to Wegovy with confidence.
• To switch from Mounjaro to Wegovy, simply complete the assessment form as usual. You’ll be asked what medication you are currently taking (Mounjaro) and at what dose, and then whether you would like to switch to Wegovy.   At the end of the assessment, you’ll be shown the most appropriate equivalent dose for you, as per the table below.  If you feel worried about side effects, you can choose to begin on a lower dose, even the starter dose.

• You must have a one-week “washout period” after your last Mounjaro injection to help reduce the risk of side effects. For example, if your last dose was on a Monday, you would start Wegovy the following Monday. This guidance applies to all Mounjaro strengths.
