Are side effects different between Mounjaro and Wegovy?

While Mounjaro® and Wegovy® are similar medications, there are some differences in their side effects.

For most patients, the side effects are relatively similar. Nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation and abdominal discomfort are common side effects with both medications.

Headaches are reported more commonly with Wegovy® than with Mounjaro®.

In addition, altered skin sensations, such as tingling or heightened sensitivity, have been reported with the higher 7.2mg dose of Wegovy®.

Side effects can vary from person to person and may also change as your dose is increased.
