Switching from Mounjaro to Wegovy
If you are currently taking Mounjaro for weight loss and would like to switch to Wegovy, the guidance below applies.
When moving from Mounjaro to Wegovy, you don’t always need to start on the very lowest dose. Our clinical team has reviewed and set out guidance on safe and appropriate equivalent doses to support switching.
How to switch
To switch from Mounjaro to Wegovy, complete the assessment form as usual. You’ll be asked:
Which medication you are currently taking (Mounjaro)
Your current dose
Whether you would like to switch to Wegovy
At the end of the assessment, you’ll be shown the most appropriate recommended Wegovy dose, based on our latest clinical guidance. If you’re concerned about side effects, you may still choose to start on a lower dose, including a starter dose, if clinically appropriate.

Wash-out period
You must allow a one-week wash-out period after your last Mounjaro injection before starting Wegovy.
Example:
If your final Mounjaro dose was taken on a Monday, you would start Wegovy the following Monday.
This guidance applies to all Mounjaro strengths.
Switching from Wegovy to Mounjaro
If you are currently taking Wegovy for weight loss and would like to switch to Mounjaro, the guidance below applies:
You will need to begin on the lowest starting dose of Mounjaro (2.5 mg)
At this dose, you may notice reduced appetite suppression initially. This is normal and usually improves as your dose is gradually increased
Dose increases will be managed in line with clinical guidance and tolerance
Wash-out period
You must allow a one-week wash-out period after your last Wegovy injection before starting Mounjaro.
Example:
If your final Wegovy dose was taken on a Monday, you would start Mounjaro the following Monday.
