Yes, it is generally possible to switch between Wegovy® and Mounjaro®, provided the appropriate switching guidance and break between treatments are followed.
Our clinical team has guidance on appropriate switching doses to help reduce the risk of side effects while limiting the amount of time spent re-titrating.
Please read the information below before choosing to switch medication so you understand what dose you may be recommended and how long you should wait between treatments.
Switching from Mounjaro® to Wegovy®
If you are currently taking Mounjaro® and would like to switch to Wegovy®, you do not always need to restart Wegovy® at its lowest dose.
The recommended switching dose will depend on your current Mounjaro® dose.

How do I switch treatment?
Complete the assessment form as usual and provide details of:
- The medication you are currently taking
- Your current dose
- The treatment you would like to switch to
- Any side effects or problems you have experienced with your current treatment
Based on this information, you may be shown a recommended switching dose in line with our latest clinical guidance.
You may be able to select a lower dose if you would prefer to do so. The prescribing clinician will make the final decision on whether the treatment and dose selected are clinically appropriate for you.
What if I've had a break from treatment?
If you have had a significant break from your medication, the recommended switching dose may be different.
Our break in treatment guidance takes priority over the standard switching-dose guidance.
If a dose reduction is required because of the length of your treatment break, the reduced restart dose will be used to determine the appropriate dose of the medication you are switching to.
If you are required to restart treatment, you will need to restart at the recommended starting dose.
