Yes, it is generally safe to switch from Mounjaro to Wegovy following a 1-week wash-out period, provided the switch is clinically appropriate.
When moving from Mounjaro to Wegovy, you don’t always need to start on the very lowest dose. Our clinical team has reviewed and updated our switching guidance to help ensure patients move to a safe and appropriate dose, based on their current Mounjaro strength.
How the switch works
To switch from Mounjaro to Wegovy, simply complete the assessment form as usual. During the assessment, you’ll be asked:
- Which medication you’re currently taking (Mounjaro)
- Your current dose
- Whether you’d like to switch to Wegovy
Based on this information, you’ll be shown the most appropriate recommended Wegovy dose, in line with our latest clinical guidance. If you’re concerned about side effects, you may still choose to start on a lower dose, including a starter dose, if clinically suitable.
