Switching from Mounjaro® to Wegovy®
If you are considering switching from Mounjaro® to Wegovy®, please review the key information below.
When moving from Mounjaro® to Wegovy®, you don't always need to start on the lowest dose. Our clinical team has reviewed and set out guidance on safe and appropriate switching doses.
How to switch
To switch from Mounjaro® to Wegovy®, complete the assessment form as usual. You'll be asked:
- Which medication you are currently taking
- Your current dose
- Whether you would like to switch to Wegovy®
At the end of the assessment, you'll be shown the recommended Wegovy® dose based on our latest clinical guidance.
If you're concerned about side effects, you may be able to choose a lower dose, including a starter dose, if clinically appropriate.

Example: If your final Mounjaro® dose was taken on a Monday, you would start Wegovy® the following Monday.

If you are considering switching from Wegovy® to Mounjaro®, you do not always need to begin on the lowest 2.5mg dose of Mounjaro®.

What if I've had a break from treatment?
If you have had a break from your current treatment, the dose you can switch to may be different.
Our break-in-treatment guidance takes priority over the standard switching guidance.
If your treatment break means you need to restart at a lower dose, this restart dose will be used to determine the appropriate switching dose.
If you are required to restart treatment, you must do so at the recommended starting dose.
Important information
The doses above are recommended switching doses and should not be considered exact dose-for-dose equivalents between Mounjaro® and Wegovy®.
