If your Wegovy has been out of the fridge for more than 48 hours, the next steps depend on whether it stayed below 30°C and whether you will use the pen within 6 weeks.
If there are no signs of heat exposure above 30°C, the pen is not damaged or leaking, and the solution is clear and colourless, you can use the pen as normal, provided you will use it within 6 weeks.
During this 6-week period, the pen can be stored either in the fridge or at room temperature below 30°C.
Please contact our Patient Care Team before using the pen if: it may have been exposed to temperatures above 30°C; it was left in direct sunlight or somewhere hot; the pen or packaging is damaged; the pen has leaked; the liquid is cloudy, coloured or has particles in it; you do not expect to use the pen within 6 weeks; you are unsure whether the pen is safe to use.
If the pen is already in use, it can continue to be stored either in the fridge or at room temperature below 30°C, but it must be used within 6 weeks of first use.
